Some Things to Think About

If you are sincerely interested in helping care for people, then working in aged and community care is for you. You will also need to be able to work shifts.
Because clients require care services at all times, shift work is a normal part of working in this industry. Shifts may involve mornings, evenings, and night duty and work at weekends and on Public Holidays.

A National Police Certificate is required before you can commence your work experience, as we are unable to place any student without providing a Police Certificate to the facility. You can obtain an application form for a Police Certificate from any Post Office.

If you hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate, we will require a copy with your enrollment form.

Participants must be physically fit with no previous back, neck or shoulder injuries and have no arthritic conditions.

You will also need to be able to speak, read and understand English. Willingness to undertake self directed learning is also required.
